About Us

Lakes PrimeCare was established in 1993 to provide a unique and important service to Rotorua. It is primarily a service for locals and visitors who need to receive urgent medical attention.

Emergency care is always provided at the hospital. When not an urgent ailment please visit the doctors’ practice you are registered with.

Most doctors’ practices in Rotorua are members of Lakes PrimeCare and their doctors will care for you after hours and on weekends. During week days Lakes PrimeCare has its own registered doctors, a team of registered nurses, nurse practitioners and nurse prescribers ready to assist.

I graduated from Wits University Medical School in 1986. After working in various hospitals in South Africa, the UK and Canada, I joined Lakes PrimeCare in 1993. I did post graduate studies in anesthesia and urgent care. I am a fellow of the NZCUC. I enjoy the variety of practice at Lakes PrimeCare and the wide variety of outdoor activities Rotorua has to offer – fishing, farming and tramping.

Since 1996 I have been proud to call Rotorua home and have nursed at Lakes PrimeCare since 2004 with dual role(s) in Rotorua public hospital. I am now fulltime here and enjoy embracing our changing health system and helping care for the Rotorua community and visitors in the best way we can.
