About Us

Lakes PrimeCare was established in 1993 to provide a central point for medical care after hours and to provide a service for visitors to our town.

It is primarily a service for those in need of urgent medical attention.

You will be greeted by our friendly and professional team of receptionists who will get you booked in to be seen by our highly qualified physicians with a vast range of medical experience. Our nurses will ensure you are being cared for and comfortable during treatment. GPs and nurse practitioners or prescribers from most of the Rotorua practices join our team after hours and on weekends.

Emergency care is always provided at the hospital. When not an urgent ailment please visit the GP practice you are registered with.

I graduated from Wits University Medical School in 1986.

After working in various hospitals in South Africa, the UK and Canada, I joined Lakes PrimeCare in 1993.

I did post graduate studies in anesthesia and urgent care. I am a Fellow of the NZCUC.

I enjoy the variety of practice at Lakes PrimeCare and the wide variety of outdoor activities Rotorua has to offer – fishing, farming and tramping.

Rotorua has been home for 34 years, having grown up in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. I have raised three children here and we have enjoyed Rotorua’s outdoor activities. 

My background is in Law and Health Management. I joined Lakes PrimeCare in 2018.

I enjoy a challenge and working in a dynamic environment with a great team. I am proud of the service and care we provide to our community.  We work hard to ensure we continue to improve and provide accessible care to everyone. 

Outside of work you will find me trying to keep fit, spending time at Ohope Beach and catching up with family and friends.

I grew up in Rotorua, went to school and studied here. 

I did what every young Kiwi wants to do and travelled overseas, working for a private hospital in the heart of London for a few years before coming home to Rotorua.

I followed my passion in Intensive Care / flight nurse and Emergency Care for 15 years. I obtained my post graduate certificate in critical care nursing and credentialed as a triage nurse.

I want to pass on my teachings and experiences to my colleagues, patients and Whānau, thus joined the Lakes PrimeCare team. Every day is different! I enjoy providing a high standard of care to our Rotorua community, and visitors from all over the world.

In my spare time I’m trying to pick heavy weights off the floor, chasing my three young kids around or studying Te Reo Rangatira.
